During the last half of 2009, I have used my Birdsong Info blog, Information is My Business, (http://www.birdsonginfo.com/) to distribute my thoughts on search, technology, information sources, business, and information literacy. During this time I have learned how to produce videos and am working on a series of videos for health information. These will be published in the first of half of 2010, and available for viewing on YouTube (no cost) and other video channels on the web. These videos will help the searcher find and analyze quality information for her or his health questions.
For the unforeseen future I will not be distributing a newsletter and will be using Information is My Business (http://www.birdsonginfo.com/) to continue providing information online. If you would like to have my postings from Information is My Business sent directly to you, a RSS reader is available. Some might say what the heck is a RSS Reader. Here is a good source to help you understand RSS feeds and readers by Common Craft “RSS in Plain English.” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0klgLsSxGsU)
Below I have also included links for three videos. The first shows how to setup a Google Reader. A reader is a “place” that news is sent to and the really cool thing is that you get to decide what news to send to your reader. The second video shows how to send what I post on my Information is My Business website to your reader. The last video is the draft video for the health information series I mentioned earlier.
In the first half of 2010, I will re-produce the first video in the health series based upon the comments I have received these past few months and produce the remainder of the series. I anticipated the video series to include six to eight videos. You will be able to find these videos by searching for "lark birdsong" in YouTube as I add the videos.
