Verify Unwanted Email
By Lark Birdsong
Birdsong Research
Sometimes we get spam from our friends and their email address can be verified even if we don’t necessarily want what they send us. Unwanted spam usually does not have an email address that can be verified, even though the text in the email reflects what looks like an email address.
Much of the time if we pay attention we can tell right off the bat that this is an email address we want to report, block and that we don’t want to open. On occasion there is an address that might need to be checked out and verify email address (http://verify-email.org/) helps us check out an email address when in doubt.
Business and General Search Example
I received an email that was not readily apparent to my eye as spam. The topic was close to some work I was doing at the time and I wanted to check the address from the email in question. After I pulled up verify email address (http://verify-email.org/) I typed the email address security@ncua.gov into the verify box and the result was bad, mailbox not available, along with a log of the path to verify.
You can test out your email address and the result will say ok (assuming you have a valid email address) along with a log of the path of the email address. We do need to find ways to keep ahead of those that want to take advantage of our online footprint and this is one small way when you are uncertain about an email address.
