Birdsong Information Services provides two services to organizations and individuals. The first is training for effective web and online search, selection of sources, and analysis and organization of information. The second service is the gathering and analysis of in-depth research for decision makers.
Training
Our training helps people
find, locate and evaluate information. We setup up processes that help
with information
overload,
and provide training that increases productivity, and skills to locate
quality information for the individual and organization. Each workshop
is customized to the organizations specific needs with examples of some
from previous workshops listed below.
Workshops include techniques specific to the subject matter and group demogrpahics, allow time for the indiviudals to practice while learning, and include materials to reinforce teachings after the workshop is completed.

2. how to evaluate web pages and other sources, to weed out sites that could be scams or lesser quality
3. how to use the library sources and databases away from the library
4. how to set up a search engine so it is easier to use and more productive
5. how to use search tips that make finding information easier and more efficient
6. how to incorporate techniques to manage information overload
Through the University of Washington Information School The Information Literacy Initiative (Information Literacy Initiative) is offered to non-profit organizations in need of this type of training for their clients and users. This training is offered at no or very low costs to the non-profit due to the funding of the Information Literacy Initiative by foundations. Lark Birdsong is a seasoned information professional with industry experience in the financial, sports, retail, education and non-profit industries. Lark has managed a professional sports team, coached in the Big Ten, brought to market a dividend reinvestment plan for individual retirement accounts, managed cash flow and credit functions for an oil and gas refinery. She has competed at the national level in triathlons and cycling and raced 3,014 miles across America on her bike in 8 days on a 4 women team. She has the same endurance and passion for your company and project that she gives to everyday life.
She couples her industry experience with an MBA in Finance and Accounting, a Master in Education, and a Master in Library and Information Science from The University of Washington.
